Official: GCS Meet and Greet Part 1 (7/21) & Part 2 (7/27)

To get the ball rolling for everyone interested in being involved with Gate City Scoots, there will be two Meet ‘n’ Greet dates set in the next two weeks:

Meetup Part 1:  Monday, July 21st at 7pm

Martha’s Exchange, Main Street, Nashua NH

This first meeting will start at 7pm and meet for a few hours.  All those interested in the club are encouraged to attend, meet others who, like you, are interested in scooters!  During this time we will discuss the group and what kind of rides to plan/expect.

———————————————-

then, a week later, we’ll have Part 2; held on a weekend for those who can’t make meeting #1.

Meetup Part 2:  Sunday, July 27th at 2pm

Greeley Park, Concord Street,  Nashua NH

This second meeting will start at 2pm and will be at Greeley Park.  Riders are encouraged to ride their scooters to the meet if weather is good.  This will give those interested scooterists who couldn’t make the dinner on Monday evening a chance to meet with interested members.  Everyone that attends the Monday night meetup is encouraged to come to this second meeting to meet more new members!!

In the instance of bad weather, event will be canceled until new date is discussed.

Camerland camera store (211 Main Street, Nashua) has given us permission to use their back parking lot while the store is closed for places to park during our dinner.  The store is a hundred feet or so away from the restaurant.

emails to those who have already shown interest in the group will be emailed this information.  Those wishing to show up are welcome to do so on either day, but please contact me by email so I’ll be able to give the restaurant a number for chairs. :)

Fantastic Day for a Ride!

What an absolute beautiful day for a scoot ride today. The weather was warm with just a tinge of a breeze and the sky was blue and the clouds were scarce. I had a nice long ride that took me through Nashua > Merrimack > Amherst > Hollis > Brookline > then back to Merrimack. Overall I’d say the trip took about four hours as I took my time and enjoyed the sights, stopped for Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee, and took a nice leisurely rest in the field outside the Hollis/Brookline High School where I took a few pictures.

I wish I had followed the weather more closely during the week, as if I had known it was going to be this beautiful in advance, I would have contacted the other early GCS members to test the waters with a small scoot ride. Hopefully we can all gather soon and prepare for our first scoot together as a club.

I do hope you all found the time to get outside with your scoots and enjoy the fantastic New Hampshire weather.

Cheers,
Sid | GCS

possible new members!

I’ve sent out an email to a few parties that have expressed interest in getting this club up and running.

If you wish to be a member and help form the club, please email gate.city.scoots@gmail.com and let me know!  The more members we have, the better!

a Flickr forum has been created, as well as a facebook page.  Links to both are at the right.
